What is the difference between a legal nurse consultant and a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant?

A Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC) has mastered a rigorous certification program of the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants (NACLNC).    In order to pass this exam, the legal nurse needs to have demonstrate proficiency and application of the specialized knowledge used in this field.  This certification requires adherence to quality practice, commitment to continuing education and the promotion of excellence and standardization of the principles and practices of legal nurse consulting.  These requirements result in a highly trained, credible nurse professional.

What types of cases do legal nurse consultants work on?

We can work on any case as pertaining to the medical issues of the case.  Capozza & Associates consultants are highly qualified to work on  medical malpractice, products liability, workers compensation, personal injury, or toxic tort cases.

Do all legal nurse consultants testify?

Not necessarily.  Legal nurse consultants provide a variety of services, some specialize in testifying and others focus on consulting and research "behind the scenes".  Please visit Our Scope of Practice for a partial listing of what services Capozza & Associates can provide.  One of our specialties is helping our clients not only locate the most appropriate testifying expert but also suggesting who may be the most appropriate expert for their particular need.
